dknol answers:

About a 2.5/10. Ignore every adjective and descriptive word except the true specifications.
2nd Gen Intel® Core i3-2330M processor> downlevel i3 is above the lowest and so that moved it from 1 to 2
4GB DDR3 memory – In the USA, only the cheapest laptops have less DRAM
DVD±RW/CD-RW drive – almost all of them do when 14″ and higher and not ultrabooks.
14″ high-definition LED display – ALL displays are high def and 14″ costs a little more but is only better if the laptop is thin and light.
500GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 rpm) – base level HDD, above the minimum 320GB 5400
Intel® HD Graphics 3000 – not at gaming level, Intel even now has Intel 4000 on the newer level CPUs. Although not the lowest, it is not great graphics.
Built-in 1.0MP high-definition webcam – a little better than the 0.3mp.
Bluetooth interface – moves it above 2/10 towards 3.
Built-in 10/100 Ethernet LAN – puts it back at 2.5 since it is not gigabit ethernet for faster connection when directly wired to ethernet (non-wireless.
5 lbs. And measures just 1.2″ – this is neither thin nor light for a 14″ display. It is average.
Just about every laptop sold has these features.
The Dell brand is a minus assuring you have not reached a 3/10 rating on it.
Definitely between a 2 and a 3 out of 10.

Here is a 3/10 at its best price of $450:
lenovo IdeaPad G580 (59344054) Notebook Intel Core i5 3210M(2.50GHz) 15.6″ 4GB Memory 500GB HDD DVD±R/RW Intel HD Graphics 4000
CPU improved 53%. Graphics GPU improved 60%
Does not seem to have bluetooth, and is still 10/100 ethernet and is a lower res web cam and is 13.35″ x 9.06″ x 1.33″ at 5.7 pounds, the much stronger performance puts it 1/2 point above the Dell.

This $483 is well above the Dell at a 3.5/10 or better. With upgrades, can move it up the scale.
Has the Intel 4000, 44% stronger CPU than the Dell, the better Thinkpad Lenovo brand, lighter in weight, fingerprint reader, pointing stick and touchpad, can be custom upgraded at reasonable prices.

So, the system you show is about $425 value in a range of pricing in laptops from $300 to $2500.
If the price is under $425, it is an OK price.
The scale I use is based on the laptop's value in a competitive market of equivalent best value in the price range:
10 is $1300 and higher.
9 is $900 to $1300
8 is the $750 to $900 range
7 is $650 to $750
6 is $600 to $650
5 is $550 to $600
4 is $500 to $550
3 is $450 to $500
2 is $400 to $450
1 is the under $300-$400 laptop set, all of which are usually cheaply made for basic video functions.
On this scale, the Dell you show is 2.5.

This is the list generated by the Uninstall Programs screen within the control panel.I don't want to get rid of ones that my computer needs or that I unknowingly use all the time:

Thanks for your help knowing which ones won't hurt my computer by deleting!

Unless you are seriously short on space on your C drive, deleting programs will not speed up your machine.

Sharon asks…

True or false: the ps2 was better during 2000-2005 than the ps3 during 2006-present?

I think so. I enjoyed the ps2 more than the ps3

dknol answers:

It's true but also terribly wrong.

Let's see what you gain-loss from the transition of PS2-PS3

PS2: Obviously you're missing the fantastic RPG's. RPG's that I remember and sitll have to this day like Xenosaga, Final Fantasy X, X-2 and Dirge of Cerberus. Not to mention the game that represents it's current generation: GTAIII. We also cannot forget the massive library that simply would not sotp growing, tipping over the 2000 title mark. It was also the most innovated console to date concerning PlayStation. If you took a game like Final Fantasy X(2001?) and compared it to Xenosaga Episode III(2006) you would see a MASSIVE improvement on graphics, gameplay and accesability. The PS2 defines the evolution of a console that we all love to see over the span of 5-8 years.

PS3: The PS3 also represents innovation very well, marking the first game to offer BluRay technology and bluetooth devices(The Wii is the 2nd with it's controllers, released weeks after the PS3) as well as the first console to have a highly designed cooling system, making it more reliable than the Xbox 360. Although the PS3 did lose it's touch on RPG's, it also spawned a very new and innovating genre: Indie games. We cannot forget the games that touched the hearts of gamers, games like Flower, Journey and The Unfinished Swan, games that do not revolve around killing or blood, but simply emotional stories meant to move us like nothing else. This also marks the highest graphical definition up to date, erected in Final Fantasy XIII via Crystal-Tools. And not just indie games, games like Dishonored and Dust 514 are bringing new things to the table that we don't typicaly see. Besides that, I've met some fantastic people over the PS3, people I would not have met otherwise, and I'm greatful for that.

The PS2 was the best of it's time. But with all of the innovating the PS3 has and is sitll doing, it cannot match up or even surpass the PS3.

Verdict: FALSE

Hope this helps.
