Sharon asks…

Is it possible for me to contact someone in World of Warcraft without having their contact info?

To elaborate I want to find out how to find a WoW player's email address and such. If it is possible.

I lost contact with a friend in WoW and now I don't know how to contact her.

dknol answers:

If you know your friend's character's name and which server he was on, you can go to the armory on the WoW site and look him up. If you find him there, see if he's in a guild. If he is, do a bit of searching and try to see if that guild has a website. When you find the website, see if your friend is there.

Yes, it's a round-about way of doing it, but there is no other way unless you can get on WoW and send him a /tell asking for his e-mail.

Lizzie asks…

How do i get tier armor in world of warcraft?

How?
Explain in detail.
And exactly how to go about this.
What's a guild in Velen that does the tier getting things ALOT and OWNZ at them?

dknol answers:

Tier sets are obtained from end game raiding. Tier 1 was found in Molten Core, Tier 2 was found in BWL and Onxyia, Tier 3 was found in Naxx. Those are all from pre Burning Crusade (expansion). Tier 4 is found in Karazhan, Gruul's Lair, and Magtheridon's Lair, Tier 5 is found in SSC and TK, and lastly Tier 6 is found in Hyjal and Black Temple.

To get these pieces you need to do what is called raiding (10 or more people) working together to go through content. So for the guilds in Velen, I'm not sure. I will try looking at progression sites as well as going on the forums. You can even ask in general in a town and someone will usually let you know if you ask.

My current status is 2 pieces of Tier 6 and we have Hyjal cleared and going to kill Mother Shahraz on Sunday and have only 2 bosses left (Council and Illidan). If you wanna see the gear just look it up on the WoW armory. My server is Kel'thuzad and character name is Deathwingx.

If you have further questions you can just send me an e-mail.

Thomas asks…

Is there a way that i can find the best possible gear for my level is world of warcraft?

I'm a level 70 horde DPS paladin and i need to find out what the best possible gear and weapons are for my level.
Thank you.

dknol answers:

I recommend (like the person above me) checking out WoW Armory, which is a Blizzard website that helps you search for gear that is better than what your currently wearing.

What is WoW Armory? The Armory is a vast searchable database of information for World of Warcraft – taken straight from the real servers and presented in a user-friendly interface. Since the Armory pulls its data from the actual game servers, it is the most comprehensive and up-to-date database on the characters, arena teams, guilds, and items of World of Warcraft in existence.

How does it work? Mousing over any item in a character profile will display a small arrow that turns into a button. Clicking this “Find an Upgrade” button will take you to an item search results page. On this page will be a list of items that may be considered upgrades for that item and for that particular character.

These recommended upgrades take into account the character’s class, statistics, and overall gear quality. In this manner, you can look for upgrades for your character’s items as well as for any other character in World of Warcraft. This feature is also intended to be helpful for characters with multiple gear sets, as they can find upgrades for all their sets. The recommended upgrades feature will produce the most accurate results when used on characters that have no buffs affecting their statistics.

James asks…

Is there anyway I can look up my old World of Warcraft Account and see what levels my old characters were?

I gave the account away and I want to see what levels my toons are. Is there any way I can look up my account and see my toons's levels?

dknol answers:

You can try the armory as long as you still remember the names of your toons – keep in mind tho the person you gave your account to may have done a paid name change, moved realms, or deleted the toons all together.
