Your Questions About Mp3 Players That Work With Itunes

Mandy asks…

about mp3 players?

I know little about mp3 and have many doubts.
First I thought that ipods would only work if I downloaded songs from itunes (at 0.99 cents a song), am I right?
where else can I get songs for an ipod? from computer to ipod ( without buying from itunes )? from any other website to an ipod? please explain.

What is itunes? does itunes work with all mp3 players?
can I download songs that are already in my computer to any mp3 player? how do I do it?
thanks
I just read from the internet that itunes is a way to get music and more to an ipod, iphone and apple tv. So i guess it only works with ipods and not with other mp3 players.
which mp3 should I buy?

Robert asks…

will my sony walkman play songs from itunes?

I know that they have removed the drm from itunes songs so will other mp3 players now work with itunes

dknol answers:

Yes and No. It will play unprotected MP3 songs which iTunes can convert from unprotected AAC songs. The keyword being “unprotected” – so if they are license-locked, then no dice.

Carol asks…

Is it possible to transfer your Itunes library to windows media player?

It would be on the same computer….I just want to transfer my itunes library to my windows media player because I have an apple Ipod that works with itunes and a generic mp3 player that only works with the windows media player and I don't want to have to reburn all my CD's, can I transfer my itunes library to the windows media player library?

Thanks!!!

dknol answers:

The music you download from iTunes is drm protected. In order to play it on non-apple mp3/mp4 players, you need to remove the drm and convert the protected music to drm free mp3 format. The easiest way is to burn an audio cd in itunes and rip it back as mp3 format. Or you can get some software to help you.

I would recommend you check out this article which shows three methods to convert iTunes music to MP3:

dknol answers:

Just find the music on your computer and copy-paste it.

I.e. C:/Documents and Settings/ (User)/Music/iTunes Media ect..

Find your songs on your computer

Laura asks…

Can you put music onto an ordinary MP3 player with itunes?

So I made a huge playlist of songs on itunes, and I want to transfer all those songs onto my ordinary MP3 player. My MP3 player is just an ordinary MP3 player that uses Windows Explorer to transfer music from my computer to the player. There's a lot of songs on my playlist and I don't want to transfer it onto my MP3 player one by one, which will take forever! So is there a way to put the playlist of songs onto my MP3 player with itunes? Thanks!

The music you download from iTunes is drm protected. In order to play it on non-apple mp3/mp4 players, you need to remove the drm and convert the protected music to drm free mp3 format.
