Thomas asks…

What is bluetooth technology? How did they come up with the name Bluetooth?

dknol answers:

Bluetooth technology is a way for electronic devices to comunicate wirelessly through the air. For example, it could allow you to download songs from your computer to you music player without wires. That is just one of the many different things you could do with Bluetooth technology.

There are other ways to communicate through the air, but the bluetooth way was designed to be a cheaper method that used less power than other methods. However, because it's cheaper to make and uses less power, It has a shorter communication distance than other methods. But that's okay for the things they want to use it for.

How did they come up with the name Bluetooth? Well, about a thousand years ago there was a King that lived all the way over in Denmark, a country in Europe. This King was famous because he would always talk to the Kings in other countries. And his name was King Bluetooth!

The makers of Bluetooth thought that it would be a good name for their communication method, because Bluetooth devices talk to eachother just like King Bluetooth talked to other Kings.

Wouldn't that be a cool name to have? King Bluetooth? “Yo, wassup Mr. Bluetooth!”

Sandy asks…

what is bluetooth Technology?

what is bluetooth Technology?

dknol answers:

Bluetooth is a radio standard primarily designed for low power consumption, with a short range (power class dependent: 1 meter, 10 meters, 100 meters) and with a low-cost transceiver microchip in each device.

Bluetooth lets these devices communicate with each other when they come in range, even if they are not in the same room, as long as they are within up to 100 meters of each other, dependent on the power class of the product. Power transmission rates vary in many Bluetooth products depending upon the power saving features available in a particular unit, bandwidth requirements, transmission distance, etc. Products are available in one of three power classes:

how does bluetooth technology relate to m-business?

hey i wana know how does bluetooth technology relate to mbusiness or mobile internet business.it is a short range technology which connects devices togather.what has that got to do with mbusiness..what aspects or impacts are of bluetooth on mbusiness..

dknol answers:

Mobile business aka mbusiness.

One of the reasons of such a concept is simplicity.

Such as cashless transaction.

Example, when you pay for ur tidbits in ur supermarket, you can simply bluetooth a e-Dollar to the counter. Very quick and easy.

Such short range technology also allows a certain level of security, so potential criminals attempting to meddle with the transaction may find it hard.

With the rising popularity of handphones, many feels that handphone may one day act as our WALLET, keys, mp3 player and many more

Daniel asks…

Is bluetooth technology an embedded system field.?

Is bluetooth technology an embedded system field.or is it a software field.
I want to know will there be future in career in bluetooth.

dknol answers:

It's both.

Many embedded systems support bluetooth. But you don't just plug the bluetooth chips into the embedded box and have it magically work. It takes software to make bluetooth work.

I would guess that bluetooth will be around for a while yet, but you won't be able to make a life long career out of it. Something will replace it long before you retire. But that's the nature of the business, you'll always have to learn new stuff as it comes along.
