I personally doubt it will be boring. They are working with Legendary Pictures (Batman Begins, 300, etc) who doesnt seem capable of making a bad movie. They also have announced that it will not be another LOTR quest type movie.
Unfortuantely, it seems as though most movies made from games have indeed been quite bad/boring. We will just have to wait and see how this one turns out.
Having seen the trailers when you start up the game and expansion, I dont think that such a movie will be boring. I think fans (like me) would enjoy a wow movie, because as you character you are only seeing a fraction of the story behind the game. I think it would be really neat if the background of wow (the big war etc) were part of the movie…. then you would learn a bit more about why things are the way they are… other than the info you get from reading the odd book in game. just my opinion.
