I can’t be sure on a PC. I ran WoW on Mac. On the Mac, you could just copy the entire directory from machine to machine, no problem.
So I’d try that.
oh oh me and my cousin wanted to play wow from the same house so we connected the laptop to pc and just copied and pasted the files!! we didnt think it would work cos of patches and stuff but it did…
World of Warcraft can be copied without installing. Just locate your World of Warcraft folder and copy it using Windows Explorer over to your laptop. Since patch 3.0.2, Blizzard moved the default installation to C:World of Warcraft instead of the C:Program FilesWorld of Warcraft folder. Verify the location for your setup before copying.
Note: World of Warcraft does create some registry entries and some shortcuts in the start menu. The registry entries can be ignored (they are for the installer, not needed for game play). The shortcuts can be easily recreated by locating the Launcher.exe and creating a start menu shortcut and renaming it to World of Warcraft.
Second note: I copied WoW to my son’s iPod and was able to run it on another computer just by using the iPod as an external drive. Performance wasn’t great, but you can definitely do it.
** Edit **
The game does require that your game account is registered with WoW & BC cd keys. If you are installing WotLK, your account will need that cd key as well. cd keys are unique to a game account so don’t try to copy the game from another user. You’ll need all the keys to login to the WoW servers.
