Okay let me start by saying this. Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King are the two other DLC depending on how much you like the game I would hold off on getting anything but the first. Secondly watch out before you start playing WoW. This speech is given alot and again this is advice im not telling you what to do. Im 15 I played WoW from when I was in 6th grade to middle of my eighth grade year. Its VERY addicting. And I recommend that you DON’T play this game. It is fun i will not lie but it took me a long time to get over it. And its been almost 2 years since I quit. Dont let it get to your life because honestly whether you deny it or not it has gotten to sooo many others.
Well, there is a 10 day trial available at worldofwarcraft.com, and if you buy the actual game at the store or online, the original game includes a month of “free” play. You can level your character to 60 with this game, (two expansion packs allow you to get to level 80, encounter many new instances, dungeons, raids, pvp oppurtunities, etc), however, you will have to pay $15 each month. Private servers are pretty much illegal I think, and the GM of each server has complete control over everything, so if he thinks it would be funny to take all of your hard-earned gear or delete your character, he can. I would suggest playing the trial, figuring out if you like the game, and then going out and buying the original game if you decide you want to play more. I’ve been playing the game for about a year now, and its very time-consuming. However, as far as games go, I would say that this is the most versatile of any I’ve played.
Well first, you should try the 10 day free trial which can be downloaded on the site and it’s only around 30MB. First, you should install Classic WoW, then the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King expansions, which I think can be downloaded on the net. I think the first month of WoW is free, but you gotta pay $15/month for the rest of the months. As for private servers, they kinda suck. The severs are unstable, too many bugs/glitches, cheats, lack of players. If you want a challenging game with a friendly community with thousand of players, then play retail. But trust me, WoW is addicting.
DO NOT PLAY WORLD OF WARCRAFT
LISTEN TO ME NOW DO NOT PLAY!
I USED TO PLAY, I GOT SOO ADDICTED THAT I SPENT 24 HOURS PLAYING IT, IT TOOK AWAY MY SOCIAL LIFE AND EVERYTHING!
i stopped like 5 months ago and i feel so happy
once you get into wow its hard to get out
plus its not even worth the money….
and its pretty gay if u think about it…
You only need one of the boxes to play the game. The expansions give a lot, of course and if you only buy the first box, you are in for a LOT of patches and updates to be downloaded before you can play. If you get all three games and load them by CD, you should only have about an hour or so of updates to be able to play.
Playing on a private server may be free but it’s against your license agreement. If found out, you’re account could be banned. But yes, there are private servers that you can do all of the things public servers can.
All things in moderation. I play two hours a night most nights. Other nights I can play 4-5 hours. It’s addictive and lots of fun. Just got to know how to set your limits. There are also limit setting controls that you can activate to prevent you from playing more than a set number of hours.
Yes, the $15 a month is mandatory. You need to buy the game World of Warcraft download it THEN you will need to buy the expansion Burning Crusade download it THEN buy The Wrath of Lich King expansion and download it. If you do not so all of this you will not be able to level your character properly and will not have access to thing in the game. Also make an account on http://www.worldofwarcraft.com so you can of course play the game. :D
You can start with the regular and then once you hit level 60 buy the burning crusade and then at 70 buy wrath of the lich king. You will still be required to pay the monthly fee regardless…
You don’t have to get both expansions at once. Most people recommend to level up until lvl 50′s to get the Burning Crusade, etc. But if you want to play a Draenei or Blood Elf, you need that one. Also if you want to play a Death Knight you need Wrath of the Lich King (and a character that’s level 55 or above)
