How much space do you need on a computer to install World of Warcraft, and have it run well?
I’ll be buying a laptop in a month or two, and I was planning on installing World of Warcraft on it. The problem is: I don’t know how much space it will need for me to be able to play it. Does anybody have an answer?
Thanks for the answer. ^.^
I also need to know…how fast should my computer be in order to be able to load the graphics etc right? I dunno how to measure speed and all that… but… any guesses?

World of warcraft folder takes 14.2 GB..
my world of warcraft folder takes up 14 gb
and you should be more worried about ram then hard drive space
Mine is 13.9 GB. It’s usually around 13-14.5 GB. To play, you should have an updated computer, at least I would say a 2002. If you have lower than that it’d be very slow. If you have like a 2000 version of any computer, it’s pretty slow, that’s what my friend has. So, if you have a pretty updated computer, then it should be fine. If you have one that’s below a 2003 or whatever, It will be slow, but that’s a risk you’ll have to take. You can also change graphic settings in-game which will help a bit.
About 14 GB right now, new patch coming up soon so it might change a little.
yes, about 14 gb.
here a website cn help you know more about wow.
about 14GB. but it goes up because of the patches. pluse theirs also the burning crusades and wrath of the lich king. plus ur going to need a very updated laptop. with a good graphics card.
yo when u do play and u need some help, i can help yea:

Dang I’m only at about 8.3 GB but I don’t got Wrath yet…… !
Ok space = atleast 40g
Speed = i really don’t know but im guessing a new(er) computer
Hard drive space isn’t what will control the speed/playability of the game. As other users have stated, you’ll need 15GB just to install the latest 3 versions of the game (up through Lich King). You will need further space in the future to account for more expansion and patches. This shouldn’t be an issue; I can’t remember the last laptop I saw that didn’t include at least a 150GB+ hard drive.
But you have another problem, laptops aren’t great for gaming. The hardware isn’t as strong, and there is little to no upgrading possible, so you’re stuck with what you buy initially.
The single biggest issue with laptops is they have integrated grahpics cards. You NEED a dedicated graphics card if you want WoW to be playable on the system, it is that simple. A Geforce 9600m, or a Radeon 3650 is about the lowest you can find in current laptops that will do the job.
WoW also wants a strong processor, so get the fastest CPU you can afford. 2.2GHz or higher is preffered, and you want 3GB+ of RAM is the system is running Vista.
I found all this in an MSI GX630 laptop for the most part, which ran me about $800. I don’t mean to burst your bubble now, but I haven’t seen a laptop below $750 that will be very successful playing WoW (I’m not talking questing, I’m talking Wintergrasp, raids, being in Dalaran….).
If you buy a $500 laptop, expect it be VERY sub-par for these heavier activities. Good luck.
