How much ddr3 ram is recommended to run windows 7 and world of warcraft?
I would like to know what the minimal would be and the max recommended to run windows 7 and world of warcraft smoothly?

i reccomend for your system to have 3-4gb, and if you want to go overboard go with 6-16gb
You should be using a minimum of 1Gb with 7 and 3Gb max with 32 bit version and more with 64 bit versions ie. 4-6Gb.
3gb should be fine.
If you can Windows 7 based on your machines system requirements : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/products/system-requirements you should be good to run World Of Warcraft. Some games and programs might require a graphics card compatible with DirectX 10 or higher.
