Now if you are a real Warcraft Fan - you dont need the character developement that the other reviewer(s) are whining about - this was a great read with plenty of interesting info about the Warcraft world. Even if you only played Warcraft III and not WoW (like me) you know all you need to know to not miss the waisted time of reading stuff you already know. But dont get me wrong - there are plenty of references to the characters' backgrounds so that even new readers can somewhat get a feel for what is going on...

I will agree it is no where near as good as any other Warcraft book written (and i have read all but one) but that does not take away from this great read.

Excellent history of the Warcraft world and why things are the way they are, especially the relationship between Orcs, Humans and Draenei

I tried reading it twice...read for a bit and decided i didnt like it and put it back on my shelf, decided a few weeks later to try it out again...still couldn't finish it let alone get past where i stopped reading the first time (which wasn't far)..completely uninteresting...

It's a good book. Its not great, but it's well worth the money and the time that you will put into reading it. The characters are fairly engaging and it is very interesting to know why the horde and the alliance are so upset with each other. I used to gank a level 40 troll simply because it was fun. To some extent, I now feel obligated to kill every hordie that forgot to turn off his /pvp. It's a good read if you are into the World of Warcraft. However, if you just enjoy the immense lore of the WOW universe, it may leave you a little unimpressed but still happy with the purchase.

I have been playing WoW for a year now, and been playing Warcraft games since Warcraft 1 came out. Other than the Sunwell Manga I hadn't picked up any other Warcraft novels or such. So when I finally decided to pick up Cycle of Hatred I ended up being plesantly suprised and decided to go pick up all the other Warcraft novels as well.

While I would have liked to seen more of the various Warcraft classes, the book was still a great page turner and I read it in one night.
