dknol answers:

I can’t read all of this!

James asks…

What would you like to see in the next generation iPod?

The iPod Touch 5G.

A lot of the features of course would follow from the iPhone.

..And you know what I think would be good, is if Apple released the iPhone and iPod Touch at the same time. :D That would be fair, they’d match and interact together well.

Anyway, it should pack:

-A slightly thinner (20%) design, with an aluminium backing, similar to the iPad’s.

-New storage- 16GB min, 32GB, 64GB and 82GB.

(16GB is the price of the previous 8GB which should be cancelled)

-Two colours- a black glass front and shell, and a white one (that actually comes out with it as well).
The Apple logo on the black one is white and on the white one is dark grey.

-A still contoured design, with tapered edges, but not as tapered, so it’s a bit more rectangular. (It’s hard to explain, but the back will still be completely flat). The volume buttons are still on the left side but are the colour of the aluminium back (black or white) and have signs + and – the opposite colour of the colour of the aluminium on them. There’s also a button above those like on the iPhone and iPad that, in the Settings, can be changed to be used for either orientation lock or mute. It’s not a slide design button, just a single button that has to be held for a couple of seconds.

The buttons, due to the slim-lined design, are still sort of on the back, but up a bit higher, very close to the screen, so they can still be felt with the finger if you run it along the very thin side.

-A new dual-core processor, supposedly deemed “A5″, as well as a new vibration motor with that for vibrating alerts.

-Improved battery life that lasts about an hour longer than the previous model (average).

-A slightly improved microphone and speaker. The spot hasn’t changed- there’s still only one visible speaker, covered with mesh inside, visible down the bottom on the left. On the right is the earphone/headphone port as usual. And on the back, with the new camera, is the other mic.

-A new screen, wider by a few mm, to match with the change of the iPhone screen size. Same retina resolution from previous generation, this time with IPS display technology like the iPhone for better colours and viewing angles.

-Stronger glass, better anti-smudge, anti-glare and scratch proof screen.

-3 mega pixel rear facing camera with mic accompanying for recording sound.

-Improved front facing camera quality for FaceTime calling+
Ability for up to 4 way conferencing with FaceTime.

-iOS 5 built-in.

-Increased RAM- possibly higher than 512MB depending on iPhone 5G RAM.

-1.5GHz.

-Full bluetooth functionality, compatible with a lot of multimedia files from other phones.

-Built in bluetooth app for easy bluetooth file exchange and communicating (video calling+advanced IM must be purchased separately for a price from app store).

-Faster, better responding Wi-Fi chip.

-HD still photos. A lot more built-in camera features, for both cameras (mainly for rear).

-Better photo uploading (choose from many social networks, not just YouTube).

-Wireless syncing to iTunes on Mac or PC with bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

-Built in FM radio or DAB radio (CEO Jobs might want to jump to the future, as usual).

Other notes:

-The iPhone is and always will be known as the better touchscreen iDevice, and the ‘full thing’.
Features the iPhone certainly has above the iPod Touch, and should always have include the higher resolution camera (supposedly 8MP on the fifth gen), 3G/4G- it would be absurd to add that to the iPod Touch, that’s what all smartphones use now- it’s not a cheaper version of the iPhone! GPS chip built-in- you can manually add GPS features to the iPod anyway, but it isn’t known to be a ‘GPS’ device, compared to the iPhone, which can be taken around in the car and do a good job at helping you navigate! External speaker at the top (in the middle above the screen)- I’ve seen that suggested but definitely no, that makes it look exactly like the iPhone. The iPod and iPhone MUST be different products.

That’s all. :-)
To mark the iPod Touch’s fifth anniversary, discount cards should be packaged with each iPod Touch, allowing you to top up your Apple Store account credit by $30 for only $20! :D

dknol answers:

Better sound quality, to bring it up to par with competitors like Cowon and Sandisk.
And a smaller price tag.

EDIT: Oh and high definition, non DRM tracks available on the Apple Store.

dknol answers:

Ok it really comes down to your preference pretty much. The Curve has a FULL QWERTY keyboard as opposed to the SureType QWERTY keyboard on the Pearl. Pearl isn’t that hard to get used to, but it can be frustrating when it gives you a word you didn’t even want. Size of screens, bigger on Curve obviously. And more memory on the Curve….I can only answer that you get the Curve for the 3 reasons I listed above. Because those are the reasons I switched from the Pearl to the Curve after only 2 months…;)

Sandra asks…

Is this possible to accomplish without shelling out my paycheck?

Okay so I’m sick and tired of technology screwing me over lol.

Here’s my problem: I want to connect my computer, which is across my room, to my stereo, which is on the other side. I have an iPod (which I keep in the car) and I dont like discs. I’ve looked at things online where people are saying things like “Just buy an mp3 player!” but really, thats not what im looking for. I know what I want, I just dumped so much money into everything I can’t justify paying a ton for a little transmitter. I almost cried when my bluetooth adapter was more than 20…The closest thing I found to what i want is intended for a surround sound system, and is $150.

I have:

A customized year old HP dv2700tSE (worth around $2000 at the time)

http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-pavilion-dv2700t-special/4505-3121_7-32814488.html

And an RCA RS2664 Stereo system

http://www.amazon.com/RCA-RS2664-5-Disc-Changer-Bookshelf/dp/B000P6H908

I don’t think the problem I’m trying to tackle is a tough one, nor do I want to run a 25 ft y cable cable around my bedroom to my computer.

I would very much like something thats around $50 if at all possible, $100 at the most….I dont really have the money to be doing this to begin with lol.

Also, I was thinking as an alternative, maybe purchase an fm transmitter for the car, and get an adapter that converts the car charger port to an indoor outlet. Though id rather not do that if at all possible, and just use the $60 that’s going to run me to get a wireless adapter.

dknol answers:

Since it is a close distance you could buy one of the FM transmitters that connects an Ipod or MP3 to send to an FM radio station on your stereo.

This way you don’t have a cable to deal with.

Carol asks…

What do you think about my essay, would like some feed back please?

Taking some classes at the local community college. Was given an assignment to write an essay why I think people read less then they did 15 – 20 years ago. It’s been a while since I wrote an essay so any feedback would be appreciated.

To read or not to read: Is it even a question?!

I turn my gaze towards the reality of this technology age. Surveying a plethora of technical advances which have improved our lives, but not without it’s draw backs. Media, videos games, Ipod’s with downloadable audio books have replaced the time cherished art of reading the written word.

Today’s media offers twenty fore hour programming, covering many aspects of interests. From news, to the latest celebrity scandal. Streaming video through the internet, or even to our cellular phones, we have become entrenched in our obsession to stay “connected” in our busy lives on the go. Sound bites temping the ear, have people scrambling to YouTube. Across the office, a co-workers cell phone sounds off the newest trending ring tone. Quickly, a text is sent off in half worded slang , requesting a file share via Bluetooth.

Captured, eye’s glued to a screen where aliens must be stopped before their conquest of world domination can be achieved. On to racing the lands of Europe, pausing briefly in the options screen to customize a virtual car, perhaps a new paint job and a change of cloths for the animated driver. Instructions scroll at the bottom of the screen, quickly depressing the keys to hurry through the boring words to get back on the track.

Not limited to pixel graphic arts, convince can be had in literature. An audiobook, which is a recording that is primarily spoken word. Mainly based on a recording of commercial printed material, offers a pleasant toned voice, narrating for the users listening pleasure. Removing the trouble of the imagination grasping the mood, suspense and drama.

Perhaps playing Angry birds, is not the best use of down time. If one is obsessed with the latest gadget, a time honored classic like The Great Gatsby, Moby Dick, or escape to a dessert island with Robinson Crusoe downloaded to a Kendal can fulfill that need. In my opinion technology has played a large roll in the decline of reading for pleasure. A lack of stimulus from words, where bleeps and flashing lights are more appealing. I fear it is only hurting our broad knowledge of life, wider gaze and appreciation.

dknol answers:

I really like it but it just seems like I am reading good examples and not really what is it your explaining.

Your Questions About Mp3 Players Cheap

Steven asks…

Has anyone seen any cheap MP3 players while out xmas shopping?

If so, where? And how much?

dknol answers:

You can get a 1-4 g mp3 players for around 10-60 bucks try the Ipod refurbished store they got 120 g ipods for around 169

Thomas asks…

Anyone know of any good mp3 players for cheap?

I’m only 13 and I can’t afford anything too expensive.

dknol answers:

Yah at walmart they have mp3s ipods ext. But if ur looking in $20-$40 than i suggest u get the suncom one or the nextar one me myself i would go with the nextar it has has more memory for more songs

Donna asks…

What are some really cheap mp3 players or music storage devices that are 16 GB or higher? 30$ and under.?

I would really like something that has a screen and is above 16 GB.

dknol answers:

A multimedia cellphone. With an upgrade or new activation, many of these phones are free or less than $30, if not only slightly above that. I upgraded my Verizon phone last year – it was only $50, a Samsung Reality. You don’t even need a smartphone. With an SD card, even basic phones will have an extra 16gb. Higher end phones can take even bigger cards.

Maria asks…

Other than the iPod Touch, what are some other Touch Screen MP3 players that are cheap and work great?

I’m looking for one for my God-daughter. I don’t have the money to buy her an Apple so I was wondering if anyone knew any Touch Screen MP3 players that worked good. Thanks!

dknol answers:

If you are only looking for a music player, the new iPod Nano is a touch screen and only about $150, compared to the iPod Touch which is 3-4 hundred dollars (but it also gets internet access where Wi Fi is available, can play games and movies, etc. Whereas the Nano is music only).

Check out Wal Mart, Target, Best Buy and look for their alternatives to the iPod. I know there are other brands with similar features of the Touch, but I believe they are nearly as expensive.

Mandy asks…

Whats up with these cheap Mp3 players on Ebay?

they’re Slim 8GB 1.8″LCD MP3/MP4 Radio FM Player+Gift&Free Ship. Those are going for $20 or less on ebay right now and theres alot of them. Is this real or is it a scam or something?

dknol answers:

It’s no scam… They’re cheap players straight from Chinese manufacturers. Quality probably isn’t quite as good as the name-brand players. If you have any sort of problem with it after purchase, there’s probably little if any support. If you were lucky and got a good one, you’d probably be happy with the deal.

You could get a refurbished Sansa for just a little more money. Might last longer and there’s usually some kind of warranty.

Your Questions About Bluetooth Technology Uses

Lisa asks…

can i use my cell fone bluetooth as wireless lan? if yes then how?

If i use laptop having internet connection, and want same connection on cell fone by using bluetooth, is it possible to use bluetooth technology as wireless lan?

dknol answers:

Yes and no. I have an jail-broken Iphone and have an app called miwi which allowes my phone to be used as a wireless hot spot that others can connect to. You may be able to “teather” like the iphones do as well. It all depends on what phone you have.

I may have understood the question wrong as well Do you want to share your laptop connection with your phone, or use your phones connection on your laptop

James asks…

What is Bluetooth technology and what is it used for?

dknol answers:

It is technology that makes your tooth go blue and it’s used to make you look cool

Chris asks…

I’m really bad with technology so…how do I use bluetooth from an acer laptop to a samsung mobile phone?

I don’t know much about bluetooth and need to know every detail – even the details most people would know. So I have a samsung mobile and want to know how to put music from my laptop onto my mobile.

dknol answers:

First of all, you need to enable both of your bluetooth devices, your Acer laptop, and your Samsung mobile phone.

Go to Control Panel, at Connection section, click on “Search New Device”. When you found your Samsung mobile phone’s bluetooth name, paired them. You may need to put some digits as password.

When both of them were connected, you can send files from your laptop to your mobile phone, or form your mobile phone to your laptop.

Hope this may help!

John asks…

Technologies used by Bluetooth? How does it operate?

I would like to ask further, what does bluetooth use? Radiowaves or microwaves. What are the requirements so that you can use bluetooth?

dknol answers:

Bluetooth is an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks (PANs), also known as IEEE 802.15.1. Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices like personal digital assistants (PDAs), mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers, digital cameras and video game consoles such as the Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation 3 via a secure, globally unlicensed short range radio frequency.

The name Bluetooth is derived from the cognomen of a 10th century king of Denmark, Harald Bluetooth. According to the inventors of the Bluetooth technology, Harald engaged in diplomacy which led warring parties to negotiate with each other, making Bluetooth a fitting name for their technology, which allows different devices to talk to each other. The name of the king in Danish is Harald Blåtand and the Bluetooth logo is based on the H and B runes ( The Runic Alphabets are a set of related alphabets using letters known as runes, formerly used to write Germanic languages, mainly in Scandinavia and the British Isles, but before Christianization also on the European Continent ).

Bluetooth is a radio standard and communications protocol primarily designed for low power consumption, with a short range (power class dependent: 1 meter, 10 meters, 100 meters) based around low-cost transceiver microchips in each device. Ad Bluetooth lets these devices communicate with each other when they are in range. The devices use a radio communications system, so they do not have to be in line of sight of each other, and can even be in other rooms, so long as the received power is high enough. As a result of different antenna designs, transmission path attenuations, and other variables, observed ranges are variable.

Mark asks…

What is the difference between bluetooth and a wireless head-set?

I’ve heard many people say that they are talking on a bluetooth. I know Bluetooth is the technology used in many cellular phones but I people are confused about it. I try to convince people that they aren’t talking on a Bluetooth. Instead, you are using a wireless head-set. So, I need some additional information.

dknol answers:

Well the wireless headsets use bluetooth to send the information back and forth. I’ve never heard anyone calling a wireless headset a bluetooth but that would be the same thing. However, bluetooth is also used for file transfers (like pictures from the phone and transfering ringtones to the phone) and for things like updating notes and calendars.

Your Questions About World Of Warcraft Armory

Richard asks…

World of warcraft Armory?

Hey guys, I have been trying to figure out why I can not use the World of warcraft armory. It says server busy. That alone does not mean anything. But its been like this for a full 2 weeks. And more, other people are able to use it.

What I have done:
Cleared my browser Cache, Cookies and Browser History on both Firefox 3.01 and IE7.

Someone also had me flush my dns but that did not work either. I am out of ideas here. I talked with blizzard and they said its on my end but I do not know what else I can do.

dknol answers:

I will try and find out on monday in work, I know a guy who knows these things..

Mark asks…

World of warcraft, is the Armory always right about which gear is an upgrade for your toon?

I have items that to me seem like an obvious upgrade, but aren’t even on the list of possible upgrades for that particular slot, or sometimes it seems to me that an item they say is an upgrade isn’t. When its just simple stats, its easy to figure out but when it comes to dodge or critical strike or such I don’t know how to compare that to say strength or agility.

dknol answers:

Hey Vernon,

Not necessarily, it is purely statistical, not taking into account your style of play or needs.

Hope this helps!

Linda asks…

World Of Warcraft Armory Help?

I am a 78 warlock and wondering where to get pvp rewards that are level 80. I went to Champion’s Hall and only found armor that required level 70. I was wondering where you get the level 80 pvp rewards. I also ask what i want in a warlock now that I’m getting to 80. Do i still want hit rating and spell power? thanks.

dknol answers:

Upon attaining the appropriate amount of honor, the level 80 pvp rewards (armor, neck, cape, bracers, and trinket) are sold by two vendors in champions hall. Trinkets, Belt, Bracers, Helms, Rings, Gems, and many useful enchants, are sold by the vendor in Wintergrasp for Stone Keepers Shards and Wintergrasp Marks of Honor.

Unlike in The Burning Crusade, weapons are not freely sold by vendors for simply honor. If you want to devote the entirety of your end-game experience to pvp, you will want a weapon in which case you will definitely want to get on some good arena teams and get a high rating and a lot of points. The only possible way that you will attain a pvp staff, or dagger or what have you, is by participating in the arena. In the end, you will need to do a mix of battlegrounds, Wintergrasp, and arenas to build up a legitimate pvp set.

To answer your question on warlock stats, yes you still want hit rating and spell power in addition to crit, intellect, stamina, and spirit. Also, as you will be pvping, you will want to get as much resilience as you can while also remaining hit capped and well equipped in all other statistical areas.

Hope this information helped! Best of luck to you! :D

Helen asks…

Why can’t I find Reckful’s armory? (World Of Warcraft)?

(7x Gladiator Rogue, Reckful on Blackrock-US)
Not only his. Also his friends/teammates are all gone. I looked at their guilds armory. All the main characters are gone? Name change / /gquit for new season practice? I’m assuming?

dknol answers:

That’s because a lot of them server transferred to Tichondrius as alliance. Reckfuly is his new name. His team already has a 3k arena rating now lol

Betty asks…

World of Warcraft Armory Question?

When I view my character in the armory

http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/ma…

You can’t actually see all the gear and my characters appearance but you can for some other people. Why is that? How do I make it so you can see my characters appearance?

Note – I don’t have TBC or WoTLK or Cataclysm.

Thanks ;)

dknol answers:

The proper link is here

Yahoo answers cuts out the end of the link and adds … Somehow.

Your Questions About Health And Fitness News

Daniel asks…

Regarding health care, does this not make sense to you?

By Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa)

Washington, DC — With the Senate health committee convening daily to craft a comprehensive health reform bill, the basic outline of this landmark legislation is now clear.

Yes, it will ensure access to affordable, quality care for every American. But, just as important, it will hold down health care costs by creating a sharp new emphasis on disease prevention and public health.

As the lead Senator in drafting the Prevention and Public Health section of the bill, I view this legislation as our opportunity to recreate America as a genuine wellness society – a society that is focused on prevention, good nutrition, fitness, and public health.

The fact is, we currently do not have a health care system in the United States; we have a sick care system. If you’re sick, you get care, whether through insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, community health centers, emergency rooms, or charity. The problem is that this is all about patching things up after people develop serious illnesses and chronic conditions.

We spend a staggering $2.3 trillion annually on health care – 16.5 percent of our GDP and far more than any other country spends on health care – yet the World Health Organization ranks U.S. health care only 37th among nations, on par with Serbia.

We spend twice as much per capita on health care as European countries, but we are twice as sick with chronic disease.

How can this be so? The problem is that we have systematically neglected wellness and disease prevention. Currently in the United States, 95 percent of every health care dollar is spent on treating illnesses and conditions after they occur. But we spend peanuts on prevention.

The good news in these dismal statistics is that, by reforming our system and focusing on fighting and preventing chronic disease, we have a huge opportunity. We can not only save hundreds of billions of dollars; we can also dramatically improve the health of the American people.

Consider this: Right now, some 75 percent of health care costs are accounted for by heart disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, breast cancer, and obesity. What these five diseases and conditions have in common is that they are largely preventable and even reversible by changes in nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle.
MEGAN – No honey, I definately don’t work for any medically related company.
I’m one of the folks they’ve forgotten about since I don’t have insurance anymore.

dknol answers:

Yes it makes sense, CEO bonuses in the for profit health insurance industry alone could pay for immunizations for all children preventing a huge cost is hospitalizations. Early detection of high blood pressure reducing the need for kidney transplant. But, cleaning up the environment, air. Water, and chemicals could really reduce the cost of medical care. Our healthcare mess is the direct result of what we allow business to do in the name of profit.

Paul asks…

Are democrats mad that McCain released his medical records and is in excellent health?

How are you going to claim he is senile and will die in office now?
“I think physiologically he is considerably younger than his chronologic age based on his cardiovascular fitness,” Eckstein said in an interview Thursday. “I got a call from the cardiologist who said that he had not seen anyone that age exercise for that long in a long time.”

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080523/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_health

Tigress, McCain is 71. In four years he will be 75 not almost 80.

dknol answers:

The best they could muster was “he appears cancer free” even though the medical records say themselves that he has NO signs of cancer. He has a better medical report than Obama who has high blood pressure and showing signs of increased diabetes.

Ruth asks…

Would anyone watch a health and wellness channel?

So I just got done with my workout this morning and (just so everyone who reads this knows I am NOT captain fitness) on my drive home I started thinking about tv and all the channels that are on there and then it got to infomercials about getting in shape and I started wondering why there isn’t a channel dedicated to something like that. Obesity is supposedly the scourge of America these days and what is one of the easiest ways to become obese? Sitting at home, watching television, eating a bag of chips and drinking a big gulp. Now that’s not the same situation for everyone and it is probably a little exaggerated but my point is that the goal in life is to be comfortable with the body and I know that some people just get to the point that they don’t even want to leave the house because they have let themselves go. They don’t want to do pilates on their own and in today’s world with so many choices they wouldn’t know where to start. So, what if there were a channel dedicated to changing that? What if it were dedicated to becoming healthy and fit. It wouldn’t necessarily be to become Arnold in his prime or anything but just to shed some pounds and get people moving again. There could be shows for beginners just getting up and doing something and then for the more advanced you could have some stuff for them and even expert level. There could be programs focused on men or women. And more importantly, you see Rachel Ray and Dr. OZ with so many healthy living tips and foods. Why not have a few shows dedicated strictly to that? Why not have a couple shows during the meal periods or something along those lines. And there could be some programs about what to do on your own time for ideas like walking or improving your run or even where to start and how build muscle and tone the body and overall to improve your physical health and through doing that, it will help emotional health as well. I know it’s such a cliche but it really is true. People feel a lot better about themselves and their day after a workout. I am already working on this and I will have a much more well thought out plan in time but my first question to the general public is would anyone watch something like that because, yes, this is for the people. This is so we don’t have to look at the news and keep hearing about this epidemic. Do I think it will change the world? No, not even close, but for those people that are really looking for an outlet, then yes. This could change their lives. I know so many people that watch the biggest loser and other shows like that and wish they could do something like that. Why not give the people what they want? But, my question is would people watch this because as much as this is for the people I don’t have the money to do this on charity and so it would have to be a self sustaining profitable station. So, would anyone out there watch this? Does this sound like something that you or your friends, family or coworkers would be interested in? Please, let me know what you think and what I could do to improve this idea and most importantly, would you watch?

dknol answers:

As an expert in alternative medicine, Dr. Valerie Saxion, shows that achieving a healthy lifestyle and high quality need not be difficult. In fact, she says it is not natural to be tired all the time. A life given by the Lord must be full of joy, vitality, brilliance and energy.

David asks…

How would a traffic-free urban playground, go over in Chicago?

NYC Experiments With Traffic-Free Urban Playground

NEW YORK – In Paris, they call it La Plage, or the beach. And in Bogota, Colombia, it’s Ciclovia, or bikeway.

For six hours Saturday in New York, it was called Summer Streets: Nearly seven miles of Manhattan that were stripped of traffic, creating a weekend playground for bikers, walkers and loungers.

“Bellissimo!” declared Antonio de Lucia, a tourist from Caserta, Italy, who read about the event and decided to walk about three miles from his Chinatown hotel to a friend’s Times Square restaurant — with more than 90 pounds of luggage. An hour into his hike, he was smiling as he sauntered up a stretch of Park Avenue awash in cyclists, pedestrians and in-line skaters. One man on a bicycle swooped down a sloped section of the avenue yelling “whee!” at full voice.

“It’s a moment of truth for this city. People are participating — New Yorkers are united with their city,” said de Lucia, a 29-year-old business consultant.

Bike-loving celebrities Lance Armstrong and David Byrne are helping Mayor Michael Bloomberg launch the experiment. It emulates similar initiatives in cities around the world in aiming to create a livable, ecologically gentle urban environment.

The 6.9-mile, car-free route started at the Brooklyn Bridge and ended to the north at East 72nd Street, with links to Central Park and other open spaces. It included stretches of Park and Lexington avenues and is set to be repeated for the next two Saturdays, starting at 7 a.m.

The idea is simple, in the words of the city’s official Web site: “Play. Run. Walk. Bike. Breathe.”

Fitness, dance and yoga classes were offered at a central stage along the route, with additional exercise and health activities hosted by community groups at certain cross streets. Bike rental facilities were available along the route, including learn-to-ride lessons for adults.

Sandra asks…

need to find news channel or news website that’s worthwhile?

hi everyone,
Although i believe “worthwhile” is subjective, i am looking for a news channel with factual unbiased news that is actually news-worthy (for the lack of a better word =] )

I DO NOT want to know how some person got arrested, i don’t want to know anything about any celebrity whatsoever, i don’t care for health and fitness tips. I Want the news to be educational.
I Want to know about newest scientific news. I want to know about the change in economical indicators. etc. you get the point

dknol answers:

CNN- use the website btw, gives you a better chance of seeing what you want to see and its less expensive/time consuming!

Have fun :D

Oh and it costs $649.99

dknol answers:

We can’t tell you if it’s good or not. That’s something you have to decide yourself. If the specs fit your needs, then it’s a buy, if it doesn’t, then obviously it’s not good.

Personally, I think that sounds like a good laptop. Heck, it sounds better than my HP. I only have 4GB RAM, and about 250 GB Hard-drive.

It sounds like it could do everything you want it to. If you’re just using it for everyday browsing, then it’ll be perfectly fine- if not better than most.

Steven asks…

Which Laptop would you Choose or you think is the Best?

The HP has better specs (faster processer, bluetooth capability, bigger screen, better graphics card.). But it also has Service Pack 1 which could really cause compatibility problems if you want to use older hardware with it like a webcam. That’s what happened to me when I bought my new HP with SP1. I had to find a workaround to get my old webcam working with it. If that’s not a concern for you, then I’d go with the HP. (Have no idea whether it makes a difference where it’s manufactured.)

I mean are these specs top of the line for laptops? Specifically for gaming laptops

dknol answers:

Well M18X should be housing 580M in near future and it is said to be 6 times better than 6970M CFd, so wait for it. It will futureproof this system more.

Chris asks…

World of warcraft forums?

When entering my age on the terms and conditions page i didnt enter my correct age and quickly chose randomly now it says i cant post on the forums because it says im too young

is there anyway to change this?

dknol answers:

Try deleting your cookies and temporary internet files.

IE7.0 – Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete -> Delete All
FireFox – Tools -> Clear Browsing Information (something…I dont use FF)

If that doesn’t work, do a soft reset on your modem (unplug power, wait 10 seconds, re-plug) if you’re internet provider gives out dynamic IP addresses (probably does)…

If you do both of those things, the information saved on your computer about your age is gone, and the information from WoW servers about your age is gone! You should be able to re-enter your age.

I can almost 100% guarantee you only need to clear your browsing data. Resetting your modem is a little extreme.

Susan asks…

World of Warcraft forums?

I can log into the game and onto the main website just fine, but when I try to log onto the forums it says invalid id or password. Anyone know whats wrong?
I have an account, caps aren’t on. My account is in the frozen state though. I used to be able to log in while it was frozen though. Did they change it?
Ok nevermind, looked it up and as of recently you can’t use a frozen account on the forums

dknol answers:

Yea, i think u might not be able to log into the forums while ur account is frozen. It happened to me 2 since i was able to log into it while my account was frozen. Now i can’t for some reason.

Nancy asks…

world of warcraft forums question?

so i don’t like to be ultra-nerdy :o but occasionally it’s fun to see people talk about WoW since I play the game, but am just wondering how strict their forum rules are for posting things (my account got permanently banned for posting something)>lol
thks

dknol answers:

They are somewhat strict, not as bad as YA tho ;) If you have to question what you are going to post, might be a good idea to just not post it. Especially if you have already been banned.
