Can the Zune play music that was ripped from the original CD directly onto iTunes?

In other words, I rip the CD onto the iTunes program, like normal. Can I drag the files or sync them to the Microsoft Zune so that I don’t have to unlock them?

Yes
Yes because they are not DRM protected. Since iTunes usually stores music in the My Music folder, as long as you add that folder to your monitored folders list it should automatically be added to your Zune collection. If the folder that music is in isn’t on your monitored folders list, open your Zune program and click on collection>settings. You can add it there. Then sync your Zune.
Since you ripped them from a CD you won’t have to worry about DRM protection however your Zune probably won’t be able to read the file format that iTunes saves them with as it rips them. iTunes saves files it has ripped with a .m4a file extension, your Zune will probably need a .mp3 or a .wma extension to be able to read them. You will probably need to run the files through a conversion program (there are tons available on the internet) or rip the CD using Windows Media Player which would save the files in a compatible format.
