What is the difference between the iPod Touch and iPad 2?

Well, I have the 4th gen iPod Touch, and would like to know why people by iPad’s, and why they prefer them instead of the iPhone or iPod Touch. Why is it worth throwing $500 for an iPad 2 if you have an iPod Touch?

The size is an advantage in almost anything you already do on a Touch. Email, web browsing, movies, ebooks, Facebook.. all better on the larger screen. If you are happy with the ultra-portability of an iPhone or iPod Touch then no, there is probably no point in getting an iPad. But if you want the screen size of a laptop with the battery life and portability of a tablet, then the iPad is a good buy.
Fortuitous for me I found an area apple possessed an overstock regarding ipad’s and so are giving a lot away! I actually received mine a short time past in the mail!!!
i think ipad 2 would be better to have. for me, it has revolutionized modern computing. very mobile and versatile. it’s dual core and uses A5 chips, 10 hours battery life!!!, LED backlit display and everything else that ipad touch has and more. i think it is very much worth the 499 dollars

-The iPad has a 1GHz A5 chip, while the iPod touch has the old 1GHz A4 chip
-The iPad has 512MB of RAM, while the iPod touch has 256MB

-The iPad has louder speakers
-The iPad can play iPhone, iPod touch and iPad Apps. The iPod touch can only play iPhone and iPod touch Apps
-The iPad is easier to use, because of its bigger screen
-The iPad has Pages, Keynote and Numbers from the iWork Suite
-The iPad has Garage Band from the iLife suite

If you already have an iPod touch, then unless there is a feature the iPad has that the iPod touch doesnt, there is no need to buy an iPad.

Why to like the new iPad 2
A Dual-core 1GHz A5 processor, which in Steve’s opinion is “up to two times faster”. The new Ipad 2 has improved graphics. The GPU is nine times faster then the iPad first generation. However, power comsumption remains the same as A4. Pretty awesome.
It comes with two built-in cameras for photos and video: a frontal VGA camera and a back one with 720p HD video capability. The cameras’ exposure and focus are the same as the iPhones’.
The new iPad 2 comes loaded with gyroscope like the iPhone 4.
According to Apple the battery life is 10 hours on “Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music”.

ipad is bigger and its better when it comes to gaming and browsing the internet , faster and better resolution . if you have the money for hte ipad then go ahead and buy it but if you want something smaller and cheeper then u should get hte ipod touch 4g.
You got some really good qnswers here.id like to also add that if you sell your touch you can use the money to help pay for the pad. So thats 100-150 off the newest tech from apple.
Ipad2 display is a third as good as latest touch as well, so there is one for the touch.
