This unfortunatly happens, it h appened to me also. Not only were the songs not listed, but the players memory was full as if the songs WERE STILL THERE. The solution? format it and replace the mp3s back onto it. Think of the 'memory' as a 'harddrive' and like anything that stores data and has data erased and restored with different files, it WILL fragment over time. The fix is to format it fresh, and you wont have to find yourself doing this often, just once a year perhaps depending on the amount of placing of files onto and erasing off of your player on a regular basis. And its nothing to do with defragmenting your actual COMPUTER , the problem lies within thr mp3 players 'hardrive' or 'memory' which are generally interchangable terms.
