Sports medicine is a good job because you do not have to deal with sick people(unless you want to, then i suggest a doctor), but it has a good pay and you can teach about health and nutrition. Its a perfect job for you.

Joseph asks…
For all you health/fitness fanatics: How much should I work out to look HEALTHY?
I’m looking to just be healthy, inside and out. Yes, I’d like to lose some weight and some inches, but my long term goals are just being healthy and taking care of my body.
How much should I work out and what should I eat? I have cut out processed foods but was wondering ifthere’s's anything specific that I should be eating?
Thanks in advance :)

Sharon asks…
I’d like to transition my career into health & fitness? What’s the best way?
I’m interested in going back to school for a different kind of career. I’m interested in the health and fitness field and/or a degree in Sports Medicine. I have a certification in personal training, but would like an official degree to confidently move into a specialized area of study. Any advice would be great! I could imagine myself working as a high school coach on the humble side or for a Sports team of some kind on the more extravagant side. Even physical therapy sounds interesting.
dknol answers:
I am a physical therapist and I think it is a great field, but I started as an athletic trainer – I think this might be a good idea for you if you want to work with a sports team. You would need to go to an accredited school, work in the field to gain experience, and pass the exam to become an ATC (Certified Athletic Trainer). Then you could work for a high school or college, in a physical therapy clinic, maybe even teach a sports medicine class at the school you work at. There are very limited opportunities for working in professional sports, but it is possible too. The ATC’s role is prevention (taping, wrapping, educating), assessment (on the field and in the training room), treatment and rehabilitation of the athletes/student athletes’ injuries (acute or chronic). I had a lot of fun when I worked as an ATC and often miss it.
Hope I helped! Good luck.

Find one that doesn’t make you sign a long contract. Gyms are a big rip off. First reason, call any gym and ask them how much the monthly dues are. They will not tell you over the phone becuase they want you to come in and get pressured into a long contract. These gyms know that most people quite after a few months so they try to stick you with payments for a year. BIG RIP OFF. Do yourself a favor and buy a treadmil and some free weights and work out in your garage. It will pay off in the long run. You can even buy used equipment for cheap at play it again sports.

Any suggestions on the best low cost ( cheap ) sports, health, fitness, exercise franchise.?
I am on a low budget. I want to start an easy business to make extra money to supplement my income. Forget about Jazzercise, it’s old and too expensive. Any suggestions?
dknol answers:
My girlfriend just started a Belly-Dancercise program and she is making money. It is easy, low cost program that combines easy, modified belly dance moves with music and exercise. The entire concept is fantastic.
Also, Belly-Dancercise is not a franchise — it’s better than that because she does not owe royalties or fees. She teaches Belly-Dancercise in her house and the local gym is adding her program too. Another cool thing is that we want to take a cruise and she is looking into teaching the program on the ship. I think the professional package is under $200 (a special).
You can find it here: http://www.bellydancercise.com or at Belly Dance College: http://www.bellydancecollege.com Check them out.
