Your Questions About Bluetooth Technology Uses

Susan asks…

Can Western Digital external hard drives be made wireless using bluetooth technology?

dknol answers:

Maybe, but it would be a lot slower.

Sandy asks…

How do you transfer ringtones from a Verizon LG VX-8300 to a non verizon phone using bluetooth technology?

dknol answers:

Verizon blocks the ability for you to transfer things like this via bluetooth. On the 8300 the only thing you can use bluetooth for is to listen to your music and make phone calls.

Robert asks…

do all wireless keyboards and mouse use bluetooth technology?

dknol answers:

Not all of them. I’ve seen ones that use infra-red. I’m sure there’s other methods as well.

Lisa asks…

Nancy asks…

Can I listen to FM Radio on a stereo Bluetooth headset?

Bluetooth technology uses radio frequencies, right? So does that mean that I can’t listen to FM Radio using Bluetooth headphones?

I have a Nokia 5300 and a Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset. But I can’t listen to the radio on the Bluetooth headphones. I understand that the tuner is in the wired headphones, but I can’t even listen to the radio on the Bluetooth headphones by having the radio tuner/headphones plugged in – other enhancements aren’t allowed.

Is there some other PDA or mobile with a built in FM tuner that I can listen to with Bluetooth headphones?

Or should I just look for headphones with built-in radio (sooo old school!)?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you! : )

dknol answers:

Far different frequencies. I don’t believe that the feature you are looking for is available yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is sometime down the road.

Check back in a year.
