What Is The Best Age Appropriate But Cool Way For Kids To Listen To Music These Days?
I know practically nothing about modern electronics. I don’t know what an ipod is v. an mp3player, but my 10 year old wants taylor swift and hannah montanas music. What do I get her?

An Ipod is more expensive then a Mp3 player. Since she is young I would go with the Creative Zen Mosaic (on pink), It has a screen so they can watch movies on it and record there voices and listen to music. Most of the same features as the Ipod. The Ipod is more for when they get older and a little more responsible not to loose it.
Go online with your daughter to Target, Walmart, Kmart, Best Buy and look over the different kinds in the price range you want and then read the reviews on it. Then off to the store to get the one she wants and you can afford.
Good luck
An ipod IS an MP3 player, it’s just a name brand. If you believe that your child is responsible enough to take care of an MP3 player, you could start out with a cheaper model from Wal-Mart or Best Buy. My daughter was 12 when I got her her first one. Before that, she just received cd’s for her radio.
Also, before I buy her a CD I always go to Amazon and listen to their sample tracks so I can get a general feel for what kind of music is on the CD’s before I buy them. There are several CD’s I thought would be OK but changed my mind when I heard the content of the other songs.
Also, you could start out by asking her what she would like. Perhaps present it as a question “what would you like for Christmas this year, I’m planning ahead” or something like that.
Good luck!
taylor swift and hannah montana is good music for a 10 year old :) get her the CD tho, not an iPod. 10 yrs old is too young for a iPod. i didnt get one till i was 16.
i hate it wen i see little kids with iPhones and blackberries that they dont even kno how to use. and their parents jus hand them to their kids because they think its appropriate but srsly who is a 10 yr old gonna call? or email? i had an email wen i was 10 but thats cuz my older sister made the account for me, i didnt even use it til i got to middle school!
i got my first cell phone wen i was 15 (but nowadays kids shud get them wen they are 12 or 13 because sometimes they need rides home from school or something and parents shud start giving them a bit more freedom at that time)
good luck! :)
Each ‘gizmo’ has it’s advantages and disadvantages. For me, i prefer the sony range on MP3 & MP4 players. You can get one that looks like an iPod but is much more user friendly. It can play movies, music and almost anything on it. What ever you get, make sure it has rechargeable batteries in it – other wise you will be buying batteries forever!! My 6 year old daughter bought herself a MP3 player with her pocket money – it has rechargeable’s in it. Go to the many retail outlets and look around. Good Luck!
I’m 15, lol let me help you out here.
She will want an mp3 player. iPod and Zune are the most common brands of mp3 players. (Please understand that while I say “she will want an mp3 player” I’m not saying she should get one.)
My advice is to go to Best Buy and just talk to a sales associate about pricing. They’ll be able to explain what all the options are.
You don’t really have to worry about monit
If you don’t have either one she doesn’t need either one. These both listening tools she should have to somehow pay for on her own. So she can appreciate the money being spent. Maybe if she gets an allowance or helps out in some way.
This is how I got music, and books I wanted when I was young.
A Ipod would be great if you dont know what it is just google it.
anyone you like best
